| Re: Ok everybody what do you feed you pup? I used to feed Sasha Innova Large Breed food, and she did well on it. However, I had to drive 45 min to get to the store..... so when one day, on my way home from work, I decided to stop by the mini pet mart there, I was happy to see they carried Canidae. After having read about it on this forum, I switched and no lI onger have to drive out of town...yay! Sasha seems to be doing the same.... same stools, same apetite, same shiny soft coat. She's not super interested in kibble, but she'll eat it. Sometimes I mix it with tuna or boiled rice, or put a little bit of salmon oil on it. If I mixed it with mud, she'd probably RUN to the bowl.... ![]() |

| Re: Ok everybody what do you feed you pup? I'm feeding my 9 week old raw chicken for now , It's a little more cost effective , a little more messy , but supposedly better for him than kibble. I'm by no means an expert but from the research I've done raw meat sees to be the way to go . |

![]() You have a puppy, you only have one chance to make sure this puppy grows properly, and that means a balanced diet. You should be feeding a variety of meats, and organ meats, and make sure that there is enough calcium in the diet from eating bones. Stick with a prepared raw diet for now, or a good quality kibble...if you are not sure that you are feeding a balanced diet to your puppy by feeding it a variety of meats...that means beef, pork, lamb..as well as heart, liver, kidney from all of these animals too. | Re: Ok everybody what do you feed you pup? Please do some more research on raw feeding. The bulk of the diet should not be bones. Aprroximately 80% meat, 10% organ, and 10% bone. |

| Re: Ok everybody what do you feed you pup? I feed Innova Evo and mix in Puppy Gold supplement. She also gets 2 eggs a week and 1x day some Bravo Raw mixed in. I feed Evo because that's what my adult male eats. The puppy supplement is on the reccomendation of my breeder .

| Re: Ok everybody what do you feed you pup? I feed my one a mixture of California Natural Herring and Sweet Potato and Innova Large Breed. My other one gets a small amount of Innova with her K-9 Kravings raw diet. My girl on the raw has a much nicer, shinier coat. I am considering switching the other one as well, but my main focus is to keep the show girl in mint condition. My house puppy gets raw every now and then. |

I've only been feeding him raw for 2 weeks and from what I've read I have to get him used to eating raw meat before I can start offering all kinds of different stuff . So far I've given him gizzards, chicken live, chicken back, chicken breast. I figure in another week or so I'll throw in some beef / pork/fish etc. The 80-10-10% model is what I'm using and 2-3% of the estimated adult weight for the portions. |

| Re: Ok everybody what do you feed you pup? Jett is on Eagle Pack Holistic, she is in excellent condition at 6 months of age. She is also comped on raw meats (lamb/beef), sardines, chicken necks and carcus - which she LOVES to crunch up), yoghurt and cottage cheese. She gets fed twice per day each serving she gets 2 1/2 cups of kibble per day with the other foods, she also gets table scraps if there is any leftovers. Her kibble intake is adjusted depending on what she gets with it each night.

| Re: Ok everybody what do you feed you pup? I used to feed my Pomeranian Iams with no problems, but when I got Mia, (my Rottweiler), it gave her diarrhea. So I educated myself using this forum. I now feed both of my dogs California Natural Chicken and Rice Adult formula. It's been a good choice for my dogs! |

| Re: Ok everybody what do you feed you pup? She's about 4.5 months. The calcium phosphorous ratio in Evo is actually within the recommended limits. Interestingly enough, Evo recommends feeding their Large breed puppy formula because it has more carbs than regular EVO. Sounds like a ploy to me. As far as I am aware puppies do not need "more energy from carbs for growing" as they claim. Last edited by SaranBear; 04-29-2008 at 11:18 PM. |
