Don't know if this is a mix rott?

Hi, I just bought my rott pup, Russell, two weeks ago, and i was wondering if he is a mixed rott. He has white tips on his toes and fingers. I checked pictures on google and other websites and none of the puppies had white tips on them. At first I thought it was a rare rott, but my friends said that once Russell grows the white tips will simply fade away. Is this true? Thanks....

Where did you buy this puppy from? Did he come with registration papers and a pedigree? I know that sometimes Rottie puppies have a bit of white on their chest and it fads as they get older, but have not heard of a purebred Rottweiler puppy with white toes.

I would think he would be a mix. Enjoy your puppy, train your puppy and neuter your puppy when old enough.

He is a cutie!
But he is definitely a mix. Not sure what he is mixed with??....but no purebred Rottweiler has white paws and a white chin.

How old is he? He looks really young.

He is precious! For some reason when I look at his picture I see rott and beagle . Don't know if thats what he is, but that is the first thing that popped into my head . He is very cute ! What does his tail look like?

This is exactly what I thought and then I said no way. But reading your response made me think I shouldn't second guess myself.

I agree he does not look like a rott, I would say beagle mix and maybe rottie.

If your not sure and you would like to find out see if your vet carries the Mix Breed Analysis by Mars which is a DNA blood test for mix breeds and see what it comes back as takes about 2-3 weeks to get a result. Let us know.

You have a very cute, adorable puppy. But I agree that he is not a full bred rottie. Since you have had him for 2 weeks, he should be 10 weeks old by now. If he is younger, you have to learn about the things he missed by being taken from the litter too soon, and work to help him overcome this.

thanks.... Russell does not have a tail, its really short like a rott. When I bought him the owner gave me his vet record and it said it was a rott weiler, but i wasn't sure. Anyway, he is now 2 and half months and growing quite fast! Also, he has tons and tons of energy. I took him out for at least 3-5 hours each day and boy, this dog keeps jumping and running around after i took him back in.. I'll post up another picture later to see his transformation...

Good for you spending so much time playing with him!! Boy, the energy these pup's have. If he's anything like my Beau, it never dies down. 2 1/2 years later he is still crazy!
