Talking A question for the breed experts

Hi,

2 weeks ago on a rainy day I found a very sick puppy under a car. She was wet and scared. She had diarrhea and an upset stomach. She's fine and healthy now, she had her first set of shots yesterday. She was 6 weeks old when I found her. She's wonderful. She's best friends with my seven months old golden retriever.
Well this is the story part. Now here's the question part.
A guy from the park, who has a Rottweiler told me she could be a Rottweiler mix. So I decided to ask you guys what you think. I'm asking because I want to raise her right and I believe knowing the temperament is very important.
So here are some pics, although they are not very good (she has a problem with standing still!) I hope they can give you an idea!

Thanks a lot!

Re: A question for the breed experts

She is too cute!! I'm not sure about being part Rottie, she has some of the colors, but that is all. Her tail is curled up, she may be part German Shephard; they often look like rotties as babies (color wise). Who knows, she may very well have Rottie in her...her ears do hang down like a rottie .

Even if she isn't a rottie, raising her right is still VERY important!! You will find a ton of info here to help you with her!

What a little doll. She looks like she has plenty of shephard in her. Either way she is lucky to have found you. Stick around, even if she isn't rottie the information on this site is priceless.

Re: A question for the breed experts

Is her name "Heinz"? ... as in 57???

She's adorable, and it looks like there have been several woodpile couplings there.

Bottom line re: temperament... what is HER temperament like? Is she curious and confident and enthusiastic around people/dogs/cats, etc... in different environments? If so, then she will likely be rather easy to socialize and train.

If she is hesitant about things, or fearful in regards to some or all of the above, then you have more work ahead of you.

It's important to socialize her properly, teach her behavioral boundaries, and most importantly, allow her to be a puppy.

Find yourself a good Puppy Kindergarten, and get things started on the right foot...errr..paw.

I think some rottie maybe-perhaps some Akita? some lab, some shepherd? Whatever, she is adorable!! she probably is a mix of some smart working dogs and she, like ALL breeds of dogs will need training, socializing and consistent, fair training.
