Picking up my new rottie

Hi! This morning I am going to pick up my new 10 week old male rottie. I am just wondering what I need to bring when I pick him up. Any advise is appreciated!

Thanks,
Katie

Re: Picking up my new rottie

If you're going to pick him up by yourself, something to keep him corraled while you drive would be helpful. Better still, take along a friend to do the driving so you can cuddle him on the way home. Congratulations!

Several old towels, plastic bags for rest stops, water, a crate to transport him in, a flat buckle collar and a light leash.

Re: Picking up my new rottie

Hello to CleasMommy, I just became the father of a rotti pup two weeks ago, and for the first several nights I put a old wind-up clock in the kennel wrapped up in a towel for him, it provides something like a heartbeat to listen to. Wallace is the name of my new male and he is just now being accepted by my 4 year old female.

Re: Picking up my new rottie

Thank you to everybody who gave me advise. I picked up my new puppy and he's perfect. Our ride home was only about 30 minutes, and I brought a nice blanket and a stuffed animal, he sat on the passenger seat and just watched me the whole time. Too cute. We got home and then introduced him to our 6 year old female rottie. They have been having a BLAST together. I'm so excited for our new addition and just wanted to say thank you to all of you.

By the way we named him Dozer, when he was playing with our girl Clea he kept running on the tile and running into the chairs. lol. He's our little bull dozer. :)

Re: Picking up my new rottie

Hey everybody. Dozer is doing great! I do have a couple questions, but I am going to keep reading the forums as much as possible, because it seems to answer all my questions with out me having to ask!

Thanks again for all the advise!
