exercise when walks arent an option....

ok, so this is the deal....i have a 12 week old rottie pup, Sasha....we've had her for about a month now and we've been taking 2 20-30 minute walks a day, as well as getting out in the backyard and playing. anyway, last week it was announced that an outbreak of Parvo was discovered in the neighborhood. i spoke with my vet and although Sasha is up-to-date on her shots, she is still not FULLY vaccinated, seeing as how shes only 12 weeks, and the vet suggested keeping her in the house or in the yard. so, without our daily walks i have of course been seeing a change in her behavior. my question is, what can i do to keep her exercising regularly? more play in the back yard? (which is fenced in) any ideas would be appreciated! thanks!

Re: exercise when walks arent an option....

Take her to places other dogs don't go.......an indoor mall, a school gymnasium, tennis courts, the gym, to the office, to Target stores, KMart......etc. etc. etc. Any place where dogs don't frequent. At 12 weeks, you can be assured everyone will want to help socialize her!

Places to absolutely avoid are dog parks, pet stores, the vet's office (unless you carry her), street corners and if there's an outbreak I would add sidewalks to that as well.

There are plenty of places to take her where parvo won't be an issue, and it's really important to keep up on the socialization! REALLY important!
