| Zooey and the Suicidal Bird We have a guinea hen that roosts in the trees and stays on our porch when it's really cold. When she was a chick, we would rub her against our dogs' cheeks to familiarize her with them. Now they don't care when she flies into the fenced yard and just kind of ignore her.
This bird, whose name is Mo, flies at Zooey. Guinea hens are naturally territorial so this makes sense. She lands short of Zooey who thinks that this is the greatest game on the planet and goes straight for Mo. So far, Mo has flown into the trees and all is well. But Zo is going to get bigger and faster real soon.
Any ideas on how to train Zo to leave Mo alone or is the end inevitable?
I was thinking about putting Zo on lead and approaching Mo when she's on the driveway then taking Zo's attention away from Mo but Zo gets soooo excited when she sees Mo that I'm concerned I'll just make it worse. |
