Size Doesn't Matter Or Does It

My Rotti Blitz is 6 months old now. He has had all of his shots, and is in excellent health. This is my first Rottweiler and I have some size questions. How much should he weight at 6 months? A range is good, and about how tall? His first show will be in April. Then I will be able to compare him with other dogs his age. He seems to be growing to fast. His Sire is around 125 lbs and was a pure show dog. I will be working Blitz in SchH. I've been told males do better at around 110 lbs, is this true?

Generally a male puppy at six month is around 60 lbs...it could be a bit more, it could be less.
How much does your puppy weigh now? Why do you think it's growing too fast?

Re: Size Doesn't Matter Or Does It

Thanks everyone for getting back to me. Blitz was 61 lbs. three weeks ago. That what I saw at the Vet. So I feel better. He's growing so fast and his energy level, has tripled. I was'nt expecting that growth spurt.

Re: Size Doesn't Matter Or Does It

Sasha will be one year at the end of the month, and at the last vet visit she weighed 81 pounds. Vet says she will be a BIG girl.... not fat, but just in size. She is still pretty lean and lanky, with long floppy puppy ears still.... All I have to do is make sure she is healthy and eats healthy.

Re: Size Doesn't Matter Or Does It

Your pup sounds normal for his age, Im taking Cash in today to weigh him and get his heartworm medication (prevention) he is tall , taller then Gypsy is now, she has always been in the crate that was perfect for her height, and I had a larger, for when Cash got bigger, she is now back in the smaller crate (size for a boxer) and Cash is in the big one, since he was too tall for the smaller one...

LoL and he has clown feet though and its quite funny when he walks but I love him
