Re: Is this a long coat rottweiler? pls comment

no, i do not think your pup is long coated. a long coated rottie also has long hair around ears and head, like a golden retriever type.
he appears to have a bit of a wavy coat(and puppy/adult coat he still needs to shed)..many times that goes away as they mature and change their coat. at worse, you might have a bit of a wavy coat-which is a fault, but not the end of the world.

I agree; not a long coat!

Another example of why we do not ask vets breed related questions!

No, Rocky isn't a long coat. I've seen long coats. Your dog's coat looks nothing like the long coated Rotties I've seen.

Best not to ask vets breed related questions. Just as it's not a good idea to ask vets about what food to feed.

No, not a long coat. I had a long coated Rottie and you can see him under my pics. You can pick out the difference between Buddy and Rommel's coats.

What a cute boy!!! And NOT a long haired....I have one. Think golden retriever type coat with masses of undercoat and rear feathering and you can pretty much picture a long haired rott.
Here's a head shot of a long haired:

Not a long coat just a little wavey. Most if not all of the wavey coat will be gone after a couple of sheddings.

Glad to hear it from the experienced folks. Our 4.5 mo old Rottie looks very similar and is currently sporting a bit of a 'mohawk' in the middle of his head too. LOL

Our boy looks similar to that. Definitely not a long coat, just a little longer than the super short coat. Now at almost 6 months, his waves have straightened our quite a bit and he has grown into his hair. He also had a bit of a mohawk at that age. We called him pin head because it stuck up in a point.

Yesterday the vet told me my (and ALL lg dogs) have a 50% chance of getting HD. He said it doesn't matter if the parents are certified or not. He also told me to feed my dog as much as she will eat...I won't be seeing that vet again!!!
