Weight Chart

Is there anywhere or does anyone know if there is a weight chart for Rottweilers so I can know if my Rottie is at the required weight he should be at. He is 10wks old, 11wks on Thursday and currently weighs 24lbs. He is lean looking to me and very energetic and seems to be doing great. Thanks for the help

Re: Weight Chart

Every dog is different....at 10 weeks my puppy was about 13lbs. Yes, compared to most normal rotts he was pretty tiny, but healthy.

What is normal for a dog is for you to be able to easily feel, but not see the ribs. If you have to poke a little bit then feed less. If your fingers are bumping over bones feed more!

I have read on here before that on average a rottie puppy should be gaining 10lbs every month. So at 11 weeks 24lbs sounds just about right, maybe a little on the smaller side too (although not nearly as small as my guy was!).

If you find your pup gaining more than 10lbs every month then that can cause strain on the bones.

Re: Weight Chart

At 11 weeks and 24#? yes he is going to be a big boy. When I got my Rottie at the age of 9 1/2 weeks he weighed in at a healthy 19# and today at 7 months he is around 85# and is 26" in height with a 22" neck. So looks like your rottie could be on the same pace.

At 11 weeks it is still way too early to know if he's going to be a "big boy". Best gauge would be to see the size of his parents, grandparents...if this was a repeat breeding and you can find out how those pups turned out, that would be good also.

Looking at the size of his paws will also give ya a very good idea on how big he will be... Big paws= Big Dog and so on down the line.

A midget huh Calin? Naw just kiddin..... Well all I know is my last two rottie including this one all had big paws and turned out to be pretty good size dogs. My friend has a 5 month old rottie and has not so big paws and his dog is no where near the size mine was at his age... I guess you have to pay attention to notice things like this...

Oh yeah. Definitely. She's 70lbs, but since it's all mostly muscle, she LOOKS like she's only 50lbs. She's my tiny little princess. :)
