Re: Oh my, the jaws on this girl!

I think Jaxx has been through every toy know to man and then some. I was very lucky since I worked as a vet tech to get some great deals on "indestructible" toys ...NOT !!

They lasted anywhere from less then an hour to a day or 2.

So far the Kong toys, the HUGE nylabones and the extra large size doggie tire are all that has held up. He does love his tennis balls and will not chew them up so they last forever. That and a friend of mine who has a sail boat made a large knotted tug out of marine grade rope that has done quite well too.

Good luck in your search

Re: Oh my, the jaws on this girl!

Vegas only gets the large kongs and marrow bones (which can be refilled with peanut butter or applesauce or whatever you like to use). She's even broken a kong in half and we have to be careful with the marrow bones because eventually they will break and have sharp edges.

We also have gotten her a couple of those rubber soccer balls and footballs (the hollow ones with holes in them). Those seem to be pretty durable, but we don't let her just chew on them. Ropes are great, but are put out of her reach unless we're playing together because she pulls the strings out.

For some reason, she'll chew on a kong with nothing in it, but she doesn't like the nylabones.

My fiance found a green and white plastic/rubber "bone" at our grocery store in the sale bin and picked it up. For some reason, the plastic is holding up greatly, but its just sharp. That's the only cheap toy she's not been able to destroy.

I think its a lot of trial and error. Good luck and keep an eye on your little monster!

i've had good success with kongs, nylabones and he has these two squeakers toys....a football and a soccer ball that he hasn't destroyed. thought the squeak in the soccer ball is gone.........but still one of his favorites.

Black kongs. We have recently started using Everlasting Treat Balls but just stuffing the middle with dog treats. So far no one has managed to destroy the treat balls but I only give them stuffed and under supervision. When they get the treats, we put the toys away.

Re: Oh my, the jaws on this girl!

Oh man.... I bought Sasha a Kong Wubba ball, she LOVED it and triumphantly ran around with it in her mouth, and shook it around, but before long she had chewed up the little ball-thing on top. Next, she bit open the fabric and took out the other ball....so now it's just a blue piece of the whole thing left, and she couldn't care less about it...
She does love her KONG though, I fill it with peanut butter and dog treats, it'll keep her busy for a while.

She doesn't care for Nylabones at all, not much for balls either. She loves to play tug though, but it's more fun to steal socks!

Re: Oh my, the jaws on this girl!

for super chewers - Check out the Orbee tuff ball on planet dog... this is the only toy that lasts for my friends dog that destroys nylabones in a short sitting...

Plus, if your dog does destroy it, they will replace the toy for free :)

the Original Orbee Planet Dog

Re: Oh my, the jaws on this girl!

Although Dutchess can totally destroy most toys in a few minutes, her favorite thing is an old sock. She knows that socks with no knot in them are off limits, but if it has been tied, it's fair game. We use these to play tug, keep-away, fetch, and a few other games. Dutchess will also get her life-pal Pepper (Lab/Beagle mix) to play tug. She usually drags him around the house. Strangely enough, there is a small rubber squeaky toy that she has had since day one that does not have a mark on it, and it is her dearest possession!
