Arrow Puppy Zoomies!

Whew, just got in from the yard with our first bought of the zoomies. I've heard of them, but haven't experienced them till tonight. It was hysterical! He was on fire. Will this be a common occurence? Do they grow out of it? It was too cute and I was so glad we were outside and he could run and enjoy the fresh air and grass. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance all!

Re: Puppy Zoomies!

My 5yr old still gets them, especially after a bath, and goes on a zoom for no apparent reason whenever the mood hits.

Re: Puppy Zoomies!

I used to be really wary of Bessy's zoomies cos the clumsy girl loved running into me.

Then she developed a bad left hip (at the ripe old age of 6 months) and stopped zooming completely. After a regular dose of Cosequin, she has begun to feel better and even started doing the zoomies again. I have never been more happy

Re: Puppy Zoomies!

Dodge is pushing two and he gets the zoomies like crazy. He is always careful not to slam into me, he runs around the pond, then around the bush in a figure 8 of sorts usually with his tugrope in his mouth and play growling the whole time. I never knew a rottie could move like that, cuz usually he is a very laid back, and calm dog. It looks like the zoomies are around to stay for awhile, just don't allow running into you, if that happens it's time to STOP and settle down. I think it's a great way for them to burn off some energy.

Re: Puppy Zoomies!

Rina is 17 m.o. and gets the zoomies every now and again. I'm not sure what sparks it, but I'm always greatful when it occurs outside A few times she got the zoomies in the house and the only thing you can do is run for cover

Re: Puppy Zoomies!

Lola will be three in feb. All we get now are the wet zoomies. She takes a lap every now and then when my son comes to the house but, it's mostly when she gets out of the water.Incase they don't last, enjoy every zoomie while you can.

Re: Puppy Zoomies!

Lately Troodie will stop right in the middle of a zoomie and start scratching at the rug like she's trying to dig a hole to China, with the craziest look on her face!
She'll do this maybe a minute, then stop, look around, and take off for the other side of the house at full-tilt zoomie speed.

Re: Puppy Zoomies!

LOL - 3 going on 4 and the look on their faces just cracks me up. Like it's a serious mission to run like a wild dog around and around me.

Re: Puppy Zoomies!

Zoomies don't stop in my experience. My girls 3 and 6 still have daily bouts. My girlfirends Remington had them at 13.

Sit back and ENJOY!
