Lightbulb Sucking & Peeing ???

We have 4 month old rott named Yenko, so far he has been the best dog potty trained very easiley loves everyone, just all around good dog. Just a couple things I was hoping maybe someone could tell us if this is normal.
Number 1 since day one of getting him he has sucked on corners of pillows to the point he puts holes in it our bedding is tore up. It not from chewing it is deffinetly sucking. we smack his nose and tell him no and he stops for a little bit. We let him sleep with us and I hear him sometimes in the middle of the night doing it. What can we do??? Also... Number 2 for the past month evertime someone comes over he pees every where will this stop when he gets older??? twice now when he got startled he peed ALOT and he just so happen to be on the bed, Not good.

Re: Sucking & Peeing ???

Do a search on the forums for 'submissive peeing" using the search function above.

In regards to the suckling, he was likely weaned early, and he needs you to redirect him to a proper oral fixation... perhaps a nice nylabone? Allowing him to destroy your property is not a good thing. Whenever you find a behavior like this that you deem innappropriate, redirect your boy and teach him what is acceptable... simply correcting him does not give him the opportunity to do 'right'.

My oldest male did the suckling thing in his sleep until he was almost a year old, if my memory serves me correctly. Then it stopped.

I would also suggest you get this pup out of your bed!!
He may destroy your bedding and everything in it before he stops this habit.
If you want him to build his confidence, get him enrolled into obedience classes...this will help with his submissive urination also.
