| Re: 9 month old female weight I dont have a breeder, we got her from a private seller out of the newspaper. But when I did pick her up the guy told me that her mom weighed 130 lbs. Im just trying to see if she'll weigh as much as her mom, by comparing her to other females her same age. |

| Since you bought your pup from a BYB...I would be worried about alot of things. ![]() Great Dane females don't weigh 130 lbs and I doubt very much that your pup's mother did. BYB's often exaggerate weight and size to novice people. ![]() Your 9 month female is almost fully grown now and should be weighing around 70-80 lbs if she came from a breeder that breeds to the standard. Please don't let your pup get fat or gain weight quickly...I would be worried about hip dysplasia as well as elbow dysplasia in the future. Gina

| Re: 9 month old female weight so you got your pup from a BYB who bred dogs that are way out of standard. Males shouldn't even weigh that much! You don't want your pup to be that large at all! Slow, steady growth is better for their joints. Keep your pup lean. Please read the standard. Hopefully your pup won't have any other problems since you got her from someone who clearly doesn't care about the breed. |

| Re: 9 month old female weight Quote:
Because you got your bitch from a BYB, standards didn't apply. If your puppy had oversized parents, there's a high probability your puppy is taller/heavier/bigger than a bitch of similar age bred by someone who knows what he or she is doing. You're trying to compare apples and oranges. Keep your puppy lean, spay her, and stop worrying about if she's on track for age and weight. You may have far more pressing worries, given her dicey background. |

| Re: 9 month old female weight Thank you all for your input. Right now she is actually really lean but not too lean. I dont know her exact weight right now but she is not over weight by any means. I want her to be defined whens she full grown not fat and sloppy. Last time I weighed her she was around six months old and she weighed 55 lbs |
