| Road Trip Hello everyone. I have been a member of this forum for a couple of months but this is my first posting. I am about to take a 11 hour road trip with my 6 month old pup Sage. She gets car sick pretty easy, after just a few miles she drools not stop and eventually throws up. My vet can't see me in time to give her something, so I hear benadryl helps. Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated. thanks |

| Re: Road Trip I would call my vet and ask if Dramamine would help. Not sure what good benadryl would do, but I'm not a vet. I got lucky and my dogs can handle car rides without problems, they just curl up and go to sleep. I would make sure and pull over often, so your pup can go potty. I never drive for more than 3 1/2 - 4 hours without stopping so the dogs can stretch their legs and go to the bathroom and of course drink some water.

| Re: Road Trip My pup gets car sick too :( Poor baby, I hate it when she's miserable. She tends to do better if I feed her about an hour before we leave, that way she gets time to do her business... I also try and wear her out before we go... that way she sleeps most of the way. If you can take them to the dog park or wear them out, they will most likely sleep most of the way. |
