| I have a question regarding the development of hips. Sasha was sitting very equal on each side and in the last week or so she has really started sitting her weight to one side. I was told that to help decrease hip dysplagia they need to sit correctly. Is it normal for her to be sitting to the side? Is it just her hips still developing? She hasn't gained a lot of extra weight in the past month. She has steadily gained weight. Basically why is she sitting sideways. |

| It's called a "lazy sit"....and it is often more comfortable for bigger dogs to sit this way. How old is your pup? Is she slow or stiff getting up when she has been laying down for awhile? I would not be worried about her wanting to sit on one hip, unless she has other symptoms of HD. Does she ever lay down with her back legs splayed behind her? Like a frog? This is usually a sign of good hips.Gina

| Re: Hip Development She was born at the end of July so 8 months old. She is slow and stiff when getting up. What are the signs of HD? She doesn't lay on her tummy. She lays on her back with her legs spread open. She shows everyone her junk. So it's not bad for them "lazy sit" |
