Ruckess - tiny girl??

Hello everyone. I have been reading through some past puppy weight threads, and it seems to me that my little fluffball is on the tiny side. She is 12 1/2 weeks old and weighed in at 20.4lbs at the vet. The vet said she looked great - "nice hourglass figure" - to be specific, but I just worry. Does everyone think she is on track? I don't remember what Raider was at that age - I just remember him being a 'moose'. She seems so dainty and delicate.

Or am I just being silly worry-wart of a mom????

Thanks,

Kelly

Re: Ruckess - tiny girl??

I don't think she is that far off. Normally our girls will gain about 8 lbs a month so she is not too far behind most of them.

Genetics play a huge part, what size were her parents? If they did not have a lot of size to them, she may be a bit on the smaller side.

On another note, the runt from our last litter turned out at 1 year of age to be the largest in the litter

Re: Ruckess - tiny girl??

Sharon,

Thank you for your input - I have grown to respect your opinion over my time at this forum. You seem to have a wealth of Rottweiler knowledge, that I would love to tap into!!!!

I know that we are supposed to grow our rotties slowly, I was just concerned that maybe she was a bit too small - but I love her just the same!!!

Re: Ruckess - tiny girl??

Ya know, I used to think the same about my gal,,, I used to call her Blade ,,and that is not her name... But the Blade is not Blade any more!!!! She is Bella ,,and she has grown and is sweet thank God, Because she has grown into a Big strong lady -- so I have been there and I have seen the Blade Skinny ;; got it? Be not the Blade no more..
