Puppy Vaginitis

We took our 20 week old to the vet a couple weeks ago for her final puppy check-up and shots. I told our vet that for the past couple days I had noticed she had what looked like a little vaginal discharge. He said it was perfectly fine and not uncommon in pre-puberty females. Anyone else have this experience with their females? How long does it last?

Troodie had that as a puppy too, and our vet also said it was common. She had it a couple times, lasted a week or so, I'm trying to remember exactly. It went away by itself.
But if your dog seems sick, or it gets worse, take her back to vet, to make sure she doesn't have an infection.

it's pretty common in pre-puberty females.
it can come and go until she gets her first season, which can happen anywhere after 6 months of age, with 9-11 months being more common in our breed.
if she gets sick, or has urine infection along with it, sometimes they will prescribe antibiotics, but on the norm, is best to let it ride its course.
