| Re: chewing!! How old is Sasha? Has she any training? Do you use a crate to contain her when you cannot supervise her? How much exercise does she get daily? Sounds like a bored puppy (or adult dog) with way too much energy...and way too much freedom! |

| Re: chewing!! How old is Sasha? Training and obedience classes will help. How about crating her when you can't be there to supervise her?

| Re: chewing!! When we brought Arwen home, she was always on a leash inside and out of the home. It made it easy to keep her close by so we could always have one eye on he. When we had to leave the house, she was put into an openwire crate. She thinks of her crate as her bedroom, and runs right in. We leave her with a toy that can't be destroyed (a nyla bone or such) and she just sleeps and chews on a toy untill we return. We would sometimes let her wander, but we followed close behind to give her a "no" if she tried to get into trouble. Taking her to obedience class will also help. Arwen started class at 16 weeks, but she could have started at 8-12 weeks and it would have been great. They all go through this stage, we just have to keep an eye out and play play play, train train train. Tired puppy = Happy Puppy. |

| Re: chewing!! Sounds like a normal Rottn baby to me! Put what you value where she can't get to it, she needs constant supervision when she's not crated, make sure she has a variety of appropriate toys to chew on and if she does get into something she's not spose to, redirect redirect, redirect. If you are consistent she will catch on quickly and the worst of this stage will be over in no time. |

It will only get worse unless you teach her what she is and is not allowed to chew - not to mention the possibility of expensive surgery to repair a blockage if something she should not chew gets stuck in her intestines... |

That said, she's not jumping on your bed, table, computer desk because she's teething, she's doing it because she doesn't know she's not supposed to. Get her in a group obedience class so you can learn how to teach her the basics of good manners, which is very important for her to learn as early as possible. |

| Re: chewing!! When Arwen was teething, she didn't want many of her "normal" toys. We ended up taking a few washclothes we didn't mind getting nasty, folding them into a rectangle, wetting them down and freezing them in ziplocks. Arwen could chew them for awhile at a time and it helped with her teething. They also sell freezer bones, but washclothes were cheap, on hand, and we had about 5 frozen at a time, always rotating. |

| Re: chewing!! OK, so it sounds like the pup might be bored...and need to be taught what she is allowed to chew and how to play with the 'heaps of toys' versus what she seems to think are her toys - that's where YOU come into the picture If you can't watch her, contain her - crate, ExPen, leash... |
