Puppy acts so different with collar on.

Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone had seen this before... Our girl is almost 12 weeks and she is a normal trouble making pup most of the time but when we put the collar on her she becomes extreamly submissive and sweet. All she wants to do is curl up in my lap and give kisses. Now she does that sometimes anyway, but with the collar on it's no stop. When we go outside she is very passive and kind of walks crouched down close to the ground. She also is the perfect pup becuase she'll go potty very fast, no picking up grass, dirt, rocks, anything else she can grab, just right to business then right back at my side wanting to go in the house. After a while i'll take it off and within a few min she is back to a her normal puppy self. Anyone know if this is normal, or ok, or whatever. I feel weird asking why she is acting so good, but it just feels like she's not herself with it on.

Give her some time, when she is really used to the collar, watch out! Those puppy antics will return!

You might also attach a leash to the collar and let her drag it around. That will give her something else to get used to and she will probably get used to the collar much more quickly as well. Of course, only let her drag it around when you are out with her.
