Scars on stomach from littermates?

It seems as soon as I get one thing figured out I am right back on here asking another question! lol! Anyways, I have a 9 week old puppy, as some of you already know now. I took him to his first vet appointment yesterday to get an initial check up. All the test were fine, thank goodness. (Worms, heart, ETC.) The vet did point out some scars on his stomach though. She said it was from the littermates playing rough with him and biting his stomach. I noticed the marks before, but they just looked like freckles or something to me. My question is, if he was the main one getting picked on by the other littermates, (which I'm pretty sure he was from the breeders comments) will this cause him to fear other dogs when he's older, or become submissive to humans or dogs? Has anyone else had pups with these marks and will they go away? I don't know if this is a dumb question or not. My vet came up with really grey answers, so my questions weren't answered by her. Thanks again in advance for any replies.

Re: Scars on stomach from littermates?

lines like scratch marks?
could be puppy nails that were not clipped and scratched the delicate puppy skin.
bite/tooth marks?
could be some rough playing going on with your pup usually on his back.
pimples?
could be puppy pyoderma, a little skin infection most pups get and usually clear on its own.
hard to say without seeing what you mean.
freckels?
could be pigmentation.

but all in all, joining a puppy socialization class and starting training, your pup should adjust fine. the more you socailize, train and expose and built confidence, the more stable your pup and enjoyable mate he will be.

Yeah, it looks like puppy nails and/or bite marks. Some white scars, some greyish colored blotchy marks. I'm glad to hear that I am in control of how he turns out as an adult, because I plan on making him a great dog.

Re: Scars on stomach from littermates?

if the puppy came from good breeding, stable temperaments and you train and socialize well, yes, you can have a great dog.
good luck with your new puppy!
