Re: Aggresive with the yorkie

that is a tough thing to try to do over the internet. How does the yorkie act? is the play aggressive or just rough and tumble. genders of dogs? how is the rottie pup with people? is he a little land shark or a calmer pup?

you can teach a dog to play more gently, I have taught my grown up dogs to play more calmly with the command "easy" enforcing it by interrupting play with a little training and treats. I don't know how to teach a pup to regulate it's play. perhaps someone who has had puppies can offer advice.

Re: Aggresive with the yorkie

I have an 11 week old puppy (Karisma) and a 6 pound poodle/brussels
griffon x (Brylee). Karisma has been with us for almost 4 weeks now and is still having a hard time learning to play gently with Brylee. It takes time and consistancy to teach them how to behave with small dogs. When Karisma gets too rough with Brylee we remove Karisma and redirect her to something else to play with. I also let Brylee correct her as needed. Brylee is really good at letting her know when she has gone too far.

It is important that your small dog has a safe place to get away from the puppy when she wants to.

It does take a while, but eventually your puppy will learn if you are consistant. Brylee has made it thru Akasha, Keil, Kaleb and hopefully she will make it thru Karisma
