New Rotti Mom

Hi all, Just found this site and is is fanastic. I rescued my little boy rotti, Remey, when he was only 5 weeks old (inexperienced backyard breeders took all the pups from the mom). That was at the begining of April and ever since my life has been full of chaotic, wonderful days LOL. He is my first Rotti and first male dog of any kind. The tips on this site are so helpful and if anyone has any additional tips on raising a happy healthy rotti I would love to hear them

Read all the stickies! When things come up or you need moral support through the rough training times, ask specific questions and the people on this forum just seem to gush with knowledge. Welcome I know I have learned more and become better prepared to notice things since I found this site as well. Mine were 2&3 by the time I found it and the people here have helped a number of times and it's just a great group of owners who really care and KNOW about this breed.....Tina

Probably THE most important thing is proper socialization, followed closely by good training. I would urge you to find a GOOD class near you (not a chain store type place like Petco) and take several classes. Even if the dog already "knows" commands, training is a wonderful way to learn more as a handler/owner, and to build a strong bond with your dog.

Welcome to the site, glad you're enjoying it.
