Puppy Food - Innova for Large Breed Puppy It has been a long time since a puppy has been in my household. I have read the numerous threads on puppy foods, but I am confused... I have my 5 y/o male on Innova and I thought it would be a good idea to put my new rescue, Deja Vu, on Innova for Large Breed Puppies. But I have seen many on this site that disagree with this....HELP! As a rescue she has been on Purina Puppy Chow and I realize that is not the best food. Could someone direct me to the best possible food to give her? Thanks for all your help! And I will post pics this next week... ![]()

Re: Puppy Food - Innova for Large Breed Puppy Generally speaking large breed food is just a gimmick, contains more filler and you have to feed more. I had my boy on innova adult from the time I got him, and once he turned about 8 months old I put him on EVO.

Re: Puppy Food - Innova for Large Breed Puppy If a puppy I would use the Innova puppy dry, if over a year old I would use the regular Innova. Either way you won't go wrong. Innova is a great food! ![]()

| Re: Puppy Food - Innova for Large Breed Puppy I don't believe in "puppy foods" esp. if you are already feeding the quality of Innova. Feed your new puppy the regular Innova (green bag) and your puppy will be just fine. I have never fed a puppy food. For about five years, all of my dogs were on all life stage Canidae. I went to Innova about two years ago. My youngest Rottweiler has been raised on it since she was weaned and there was no problems.

Re: Puppy Food - Innova for Large Breed Puppy if you can find it, try Wellness..it is a great food, all natural and hypoallergenic...my previous Rott, Rocky had skin problems and licked himself raw, until he was changed to Wellness, which is a really great for all dogs...Rotts tend to get food allergies, and it shows through their coat and skin...it's just my opinion, but this dog actually acted and looked healthier after feeding this brand...good luck with whatever food you choose...

Re: Puppy Food - Innova for Large Breed Puppy As you can tell there is still debate on whether puppy food itself is necessary. Some do. Some don't. I won't start us down that road again... Either way, you're in a solid food family with Innova.

Re: Puppy Food - Innova for Large Breed Puppy Thanks for all the great advice guys! I am keeping her on the Innova Puppy at least through this 33# bag and then I will switch off between the Puppy and Adult dry. Big brothers eat the Adult and Senior so we have it already in our household. My vet also suggested California Natural...which I will do a search on to determine if it would be good for her. She is truly a puppy...through and through and giving me a workout and a half! ![]()
