Hello everybody. My Tiger is 9 Weeks old now and he goes to pee & potty inside the flat all the time I tried many times with him to make him pee on the news paper on the balcony as I live in a Flat on the 3rd floor and I am coming home at 5:00 PM , also I tried to put him on his crate during the night but once I leave him he is starting to yelling and shake the crate door to go out and my neighbor is complaining from that sounds at night and to make him calm I must get him inside the flat to sleep inside please give me your urgent advice , thanks for your urgent help

Re: 9 weeks Puppy needs help urgent

At 9 weeks old this is a baby puppy. Do a search on this forum for house training/potty training and you will find a heap of information. At his young age you really can't expect him to know to go out to the balcony to potty, you need to train him to do so. Same as toilet training a human baby.
Have you anyone who can come over and visit the puppy whilst you are at work all day and take him out to potty

About this 3rd floor balcony. I sincerely hope it is fully enclosed and the dog will never be able to jump over the railing. Please tell me you are not leaving this puppy on the balcony all day.

With the crating at night. Put the crate next to your bed so he knows you are near. This pup has just left his mother and littermates and is alone a lot, he is probably scared and lonely. How long have you had this puppy?

I have it two weeks ago, and the balcony as the wall is high and it is covered from outside , actually I am leaving him with some toys and food , water enough, and his crate opening if he likes to go on and my wife comes earlier to home and if he needs something she will do it , but she is little scared from Dogs and I am trying with her to be used to deal with him , but if you have any tips you can give I will be grateful, thanks for your reply

I hope this little pup is not confined to the balcony all day in all weather, or do you leave the house door open so he can go inside?

I honestly don't see how this dog is going to be potty trained if it is not taken outside and taught where to toilet. Paper training may work work whilst the pup is small but he's going to be a big dog. Then there is the problem that there is no one home to potty train the puppy.

I don't wish to be rude but why did you get a Rottweiler if your wife is afraid of dogs and you don't really have ideal living conditions to house a large dog?

What are you doing to socialise this pup? How will you exercise the pup? Do you intend to do obedience training with him? Where is his crate at night time?

If you can not have someone come over and take the puppy outside every 4 hours or so, then you need to give the puppy back to the breeder.

If your wife is afraid of dogs, why EXACTLY did you get a Rottweiler??? If she's afraid of the puppy, she's going to be terrified of the adult dog.

Thats the same thing I was thinking, I could never leave my dogs home all day alone then expect them to be housebroke, they dont do it themselves

Crate your pup inside the house with you and spend time with him/her when you are home. It takes consistentcy to get results. But it will come. Kona is going on 6 months old now and we are amazed at how well she has done (or we have done working with her)! I thought I would lose my mind some days and sleepless nights, but here we are and she is making such wonderful progress.

Personally, I think you need to find this puppy a new home while it is still young and cute and easy to find. You seem to not have the proper time or abilities to raise a puppy and Rottweilers take more work than most.

Re: 9 weeks Puppy needs help urgent

I was just reading in my "Rottweilers for Dummies" book last night (I have an 8 week old pup) that crate training should begin immediately. And if your dog continues to whine after the first week of patient "Quiet" s, they suggest a firm "Quiet" followed by tossing a soda can with a couple of pennies inside (taped up, of course)at the crate. Keep several at your bedside for nightime training! Even though Remy doesn'y whine much at night, I thought this was a clever idea.
