sampson has taken over as the dog alpha

well I did not think it had to happen as my mom has great danes that get orderd around by her chuhuahua(cant spell). but sampson has taken over the leader dog roll as far as i can tell. its kind of sad for me because my blue heeler is a great dog and has alwayse done the leader thing in his 5 ish years. have any of you gone through the changing of the guard? bo has always been most responsive to me and so i have a stupid human soft spot for his plight. I also know that interfering in this proccess only confuses the dogs and I will and have not done that.

The weird thing is sampson has recently started to do the submissive pee when he greets me when my wife and he return from work? he does not do this with anyone else.

any input is appreciated as this is my first rottie and he is definatly a handfull,
he is a great dog but he is going through early adolesence i think. 7 months old. thanks jerry

No, I've not experienced this.... but I only allow a male/female out at any one time.

It may be time for you to start a revolving dog program in your home. Something to think about. Managing multiple dogs can be a lot of work, but when taking the mental health of all your dogs into consideration, it might be a good solution for you.

Continue enrolling in obedience classes with your young boy, as you need to make sure you remain the alpha with him in the years to come.
