Wink Puppy's weight??

I was wondering if anyone has size comparisions from their Rottweilers at 4 months old? Ruger went to the Vet yesterday and weighed in at 30.7 lbs. Anyone remember what their Rotties weighed at this age?

You can check this thread for some general ideas or do a search on weight from puppy to adult.....

Re: Puppy's weight??

Thanks for the info. Ruger seems a bit on the smaller side than those listed on the chart. My last Rottie Teddybear weighed 143 lbs. full grown and I know Ruger will be smaller. He was at the vet on Saturday and he said hes looking great. His Mom was 90 lbs and Daddy was 110 lbs. I will keep the chart and keep comparing. Thanks!

This link gives a bit more information, but just keep in mind that every puppy is different. They grow and mature at their own rates depending on the lines they are from.

Re: Puppy's weight??

I just weighed my 4 month old (she'll be 18 weeks tomorrow) and she already weighs 41lbs!!! Our breeder said that when they are that young they can gain about 10lbs per week.

10 lbs a week is not good. This huge, fast weight gain can lead to bone, and ligament and hip problems. Rottweiler pups should grow slow and steady. Their food portions should be controlled so they do not grow too fast.

About 10 lbs + or - is about average growth for a Rottweiler puppy per month. This is not a giant breed like a Great Dane or Mastiff.

Re: Puppy's weight??

I agree with brunie's mom - You must have wrote the wrong word (week instead of month). During my boys greatest spurt he only gained 14lbs. in a month, otherwise always between 8-10lbs per month.

My pup is always hungry-how many cups of food per day do you feed your 4-5 month old? We have been feeding her 2 cups twice a day...

Re: Puppy's weight??

My pup just turned 5 months old? He weighs 51 lbs. Is this ok? My Dad thinks he is skinny but I think he looks fine? How much does/did your pup weigh at this age?

Re: Puppy's weight??

Kodi will be 6 months in 3 days and he was at the vet 2 weeks ago and was 57.2 lbs. At 4 month mark he 43 lbs. I have to say though my vet said it was fine and he was growing on target. My other Rott was 40lbs at 4 months. Hunter was 135lbs before the cancer took him and Kodi's parents - dad is 145 lbs and mom is 125lbs. I believe he is taking after dad and is going to be every bit of 145lbs as his dad is.
