can puppies color change?

sampson seemed tan and black when we got him at 8 weeks. unless im crazy he seems to be changing to a mahoganie( cant spell it)In the tan areas. he is about 5 months old now and he is blowing his baby coat. plus still growing/losing baby teeth. any info?

Yes, they can change color the older they get. Mine all went from a dark tan to mahagony.

Our first girl, Basia, turned from mohogany to tan when she was about 10 and I've been watching our new girls tannish patches turn mohogany over the past 2 weeks.

Kiya is 10 weeks 2day ( happy 10weeks bday hunny!! !) and i havent noticed any change in her colour yet. I was told by the vet about some foods that you can get (only from the vets in uk! dont know if you have it where you are?) it contains an amino acid called L-tyrosine, it enables the dog to synthesise melanin to express optimum coat colour. The food is called Royal canin and im sure youll maby find other brands that also contain it?... .
