big paws

Quick question. My 4 month old puppy has rather large paws in proportion to the rest of her. Is this normal? Both her parents were large for rottweilers, albeit a healthy lage size. I just wondered if their is anyway to gauge what size she will be as an adult. Is there any significance to her oversized paws and how big she will grow to?

Thanks

Re: big paws

I think this is normal as most puppie's paws seem out of proportion to the rest of their bodies. They will eventually grow into them.

I've noticed with my 2 boys through various stages of them growing that as some point in time a certain part of their body either looked bigger or small than the rest. ie head etc.

Its fun watching them grow.

Re: big paws

Sooner or later your pup will grow into her paws....

Usually its later and that explains why they can be such klutzs for so long!!!!

Best indicator of mature size is finished size of parents....so looks like you may have a large dog on your hands!!!

Re: big paws

My rottie Susti had and still has very big paws.... almost as big as my balm. He is going to be very big... it all looks that way. At 6 months his head was huge looking :) But now he´s getting more like a normal figured rottie, exept for very big one. Love, Freyja and Susti.

Re: big paws

My gus had good size paws when he was a pup. They seem to stop growing from the time he was 4 months until he was 7 months. His paws seem to grow overnight again easily as big as my hand. Great comment from alfaevans about the growth stages it seems like what you notice what you want on different days. Overall size will come down to parents size.
