| I am fixing to get a Rott and I have a question. I have 2 other dogs. One is a shihtzu and does not have an agressive bone in her body. The other is a pug is very sweet but sometimes get jealous and jumps on my other dog. Is this a dangerous situation to get a Rott or can this be worked out. The pug is not mean at all she just get jealous but not all the time. I also have cats & birds. I know the most important step is to get a good breeder but I would like any and all advice from you guys who know. I am new at this so forgive any blunders. |

| Re: New Puppy Info Wanted I think it makes a difference whether you are getting a Rottie pup or adult. We had a very dominant 3-YO female Miniature Schnauzer when we got our Rottie pup 13 years ago. The Schnauzer was always boss even after the Rottie was full grown adult because dogs don't seem to understand size. Both of them are dead now and we're starting over with a new Rottie pup and 10-YO male Schnauzer. There were a few times the Schnauzer growled and threatened the puppy but now I'll see him watch the pup and start wagging his little stumpy tail like he wants to play but can't remember how. The Rottie just keeps trying to win him over and I think they are going to do just fine. |
