10 week old puppy growling and biting.

i have a 10 week old puppy (nearly 11weeks) and today my mate came round to my house with his 12week old staffordshire terrier, his dog is really hyper and excited. well anyway my puppy went up to him and she started lcking him on the nose, then she started growling and barking at him (btw she has never barked before, only with other dogs) she also tried to bite him but they were on leashes so we didnt let her. well this staffordshire terrier is a lot bigger than her and stronger but she carried on. Is this dominant behaviour? sometimes when we play with her also she growls and bites very hard. is this normal for a pup? (we got her at 8 weeks)

Well, since you restrained the two you don't know do you? Sounds like she was attempting to start a play scenario to me, but who knows?

Do you mean to say she bites you hard? or a tug toy hard? If she is biting you, what kind of games are you playing that has her biting you? Why would you continue such games? Find games that to not stimulate her into biting people.
