Going from feeding 3X a day to 2X. HOW?

I am currently feeding my 16 w/o 3 times a day. However we do plan to pair it down to twice a day so we do not have to come home at lunch when she is older. When is the proper time to start doing this and how? Just all of the sudden phase out lunch and add more to her other meals?

Well, in a few words; JUST DO IT!

I usually wait until the puppies are a little closer to 6 months old. I am in the midst of doing this with my pup right now. She is going to be 24 weeks old on Saturday, on October 2, she is 6 months and has her first show on October 8th. I want her off her lunch by that show.

I will give her more breakfast and dinner and a snack at lunch time (part of a chicken neck) instead for about a week or so. If she has a particularly active day, I will give her a little more, but not every day.

Hope that helps a bit.

Kristi
