Overbite

Lulu (4mos) has a bit of an overbite and the vet said it was also a "parrot bite" (not sure if that was the exact phrase...it's a little skewed to one side.) Anyway, he said that her lower jaw could catch up to her upper jaw as she gets older and it may straighten itself out. I don't plan on showing her so I'm not too concerned but have others seen this and seen it fix itself? Anything I should be worried about?

Usually an overbite, if not too pronounced, will correct itself. If the bite is "skewed to one side" that is a wry mouth and probably won't correct. The only thing you need to be aware of is that she doesn't have any problem chewing.

Just keep an eye on the canine teeth and make sure the bottom ones are not drilling a hole in the roof of the mouth. If that occurs, back to the vet.

depending on severity, may or may not fix.by the time she is 9-12 months, that's the way it will stay.the top jaw generally grows first, then the bottom.but if jaw is wry, that may stay wry just closer together when older.
just keep eye on k9 tooth drilling on roof of mouth.

Right now the canines are looking old and grey ... almost like they have black insides? I've assumed they are her puppy teeth and will be replaced. The newer ones in the back are real teeth at this age, correct? I have NO experience with teeth, as you can see!

Grey/black teeth are dead teeth, and yes, at her age, they are most likely her puppy teeth, soon to depart.

Keep an eye on the new ones as they come in. If the old ones haven't fallen out and it goes more than about a week with "double" teeth, get her to the vet to have the old ones pulled.
