depends... pedigree... parents... feeding... size... the weight is ot the concern... is he a healthy build? that is the true question. Whether he is 75 or 150.. if its healthy build then go for it, if obese consult a vet - best advice I can give :-)

how much over 100? Tyson was about 95 at 11 months, the weight gain should slow down after a year.

I was tired when I made that post, you can also look up a rottweiler growth chart for averages , try google. cant link to it it is a breeder website that has it. But weight can be such an awful thing, everyone seems to want bragging rights with the weight and the thing is an obese rotty can develop issues on down the line, this weight problem can indeed flare up problems from his/her heart to the joints in the hips, elbows, etc. If it is a strong healthy build though, I would not worry about it too much. Have you consulted the vet about this concern?

You really have to know the the lines (on both sides) to do any kind of prediction.

My new pup is just a little over 7 months old and he's 95 pounds already...but he came from a great breeder (in my opinion) and the parents were both towards the upper end (size-wise) of the standard. The pup looks very nice for his size. If the pup turns out like his dad I will be very happy.

You said he is a German Rottweiler in another thread. Therefore, you should be able to look at the Ahnentafel that came with him and see the sizes of his parents. If you need help with translation, feel free to ask.

I guess it depends if the dog looks fat or "lean"...

To piggy back on this topic, Is it normal for female Rotts to grow faster and reach mature size before male rotts ?

I don't know if it's true for dogs, but it is true for people. My cousin and I had kiddos at the same time, her a girl, me a boy. The girl is way bigger than the boy.

I've been reading a lot of the posts about weight since there are times that Sherman's weight concerns me - and most of what I've gathered is that if you can easily feel the ribs (or even see the outline) and the dog has "hips" they are likely ok weight wise.

We picked up Sherman at just shy of 8 weeks and he was about 8 lbs, when we had him in for his rabies shot the beginning of the month he was 62 lbs (about 22 inches tall at the shoulder). If I had to guess what he is now - just turned 5 months - I would hazard that he is close to 75 lbs since he's been averaging 3-5 lbs per week. Vet is not concerned, you can feel his ribs and see his hips, the only time he truely looks FAT is right after he eats, but then don't a lot of us ;-)

I think it's like kywildcat581 said - they are all different and grow at different rates. I think they are sort of like kids, and I would hazard to guess that they go through growth spurts just like kids. I remember there were times my son would grow out of his clothes/shoes in a couple weeks -
