Puppy Ears

My puppy's ears are huge. Will his ears stay the same size as he gets older? or are they gonna stay a consistent ratio between head and ear size?
thanks

Maybe if you post a picture in the forum someone could comment more on your question.

Depends on the dog. Sable's ears remained proportionately the same all thru out puppyhood to adult. Rave's ears were another story! There was a time we joked with her breeder about that "black and tan coonhound" she must have hanging around. Her ears were huge in comparison to her head for a while. Then her head caught up and she's fine.

So maybe your pup is like Rave and the ears growth has gotten away with themselves for a while? If not, having big ears isn't the end of the world. The ear set is more important.

Good advice doc, and thanks for the input mom

I cant tell if this picture does his ears justice on how big they are. I mean I can take them and put some of his ear in his mouth if I wanted

He pretty much looks like a beagle but I dont know why someone would mix a rott and beagle, and I dont think beagle mix would explain a couple white spots he has.

I have seen a basset hound/rotti mix...no clue which breed mom was...

If you have a small rottie, and a large beagle, you most certainly can breed them...unfortunately...

He's ADORABLE - no matter what he is! Where did he come from? Shelter? Any clue of his parents and their size?

He looks part beagle. How old?(looks small for a 8 week or older rott.)The white can be the part of rottie thats from Swiss Mountain dogs that was part of making the rottweiler breed.Like some have on chest but grows out as it gets bigger.

ADORABLE! (It's hard to tell. Is he a bit small? Then possibly the Basset or Beagle mix.) Tho to me, his legs look pretty long, proportionately. Black and Tan Coonhound, if he's decent size. Either way, he's way too cute for his own good!
