| There are much better foods but hey if it is working for you and your dog, pedigree is not the worst on the market. Some "top of the line" dog foods include... Canidae (which we feed our dog) Innova California Natural Wellness Like I said these are just a few. There is a whole slew of premium foods out there. They may seem expensive but when you break it down into...how much the dog eats. What the benefits are from the food. And the total all around health of your dog...the price will break even with the cheaper stuff. |

| I have a pit and a rottie and I feed both of them pedigree and they both love it. When it's feeding time they both wag and stand in line. So in saying that I dont see a problem with it. |

| There is a tonn of info here on what to look for in a food if you do a search. There is a lot that goes into the decision as to what to feed, like cost, convienance to get the food, etc, etc. First educate your self, then pick a food. It is hard to decide just based on one person saying "my dogs like it". Good luck. BTW, don't look at just the price tag when figuring the cost of food for your dog. Many "high quality" food are much more compact in their formulation so you feed a lot less. The stuff I feed our 2 dogs cost about $13 a week per dog to feed.

| When it comes to my babies I don't worry about cost. My pit got parvo after only two weeks of having her and I put out whatever money it took to make her better. So money doesn't matter or I would not have two dogs that are of a bigger breed. The vet says they are extremely healthy and that is my main concern. Thank you for your advice. |

| I have tried other foods and it seemed they were getting sick off of them. I have tried the all natural and the science diet and like I said they both got sick. |

| It always comes down to what ever works for your dogs, regardless of the name on the bag!!

| I've seen healthy dogs brought up on all kinds/brands of food. So it really is whatever works for your dog. Nutro works for my dogs and they like it, so that is all that I really care about. |

| In my case, I have found that Pedigree was awful for my puppy. When Athena was very young, my dad gave her Pedigree, because that's was they gave us for free at the vet's office. On Pedigree, her stools were the same size that they are now (she's over 2 years old and on Wellness now). Her coat was consistently greasy, she shed more, she smelled worse, and when I started reading about Pedigree's ingredients, I started to wonder what the long term health effects of non-human grade ingredients would be. (Mad cow, anyone???) So I switched her over to several different "premium" foods, and have found that the ones with the simplest ingredients work best for her. Some of the premium foods like Innova or Canidae seem to be too rich for her. The fact that they're so calorie dense makes them more well suited to very active dogs, I think. And Athena's also had 2 stomach surgeries, so her tummy seems to be rather sensitive. Instead, we stick to things like Wellness's duck formula, Science Diet I/D (for intestineal troubles), or California Natural.

| After trying several premium dog foods...all of which upset my dog's digestion...we ended up with using a better quality house brand...and I supplement with high protein "treats". His heath, coat, etc seem excellent...and vet checks him out highly. He could not tolerate the raw foods well...guess it just depends on the pup! |
