Thumbs down Puppy Biting

We have a 9 wk old male rottie with a good temperment, however he is continually clamping himself to our legs in a sexual manner whilst biting and growling. The more you tell him no in a firm voice the more he growls and wags his tail. He clearly believes this to be a game and obviously we want to overcome this situation but we don't know how. The biting is getting harder, even though it isn't vicious.
Does anyone have any suggestions we can try?

Hmm..

Well, i'm not an expert at all. But I've come across this problem before. IMO, I think you should be firm with it and carry it off your leg to get him away. The biting will stop eventually. He's still a baby :-) Get him an alternative to chew on. Maybe beef jerkies or a nice bone would do. SOmething he could chew on. If the hugging on to the leg persists, why not try to put him in his crate for a awhile. And try letting him out later. If it continues, do that again.. Be firm with the NOs.. I'm sure he'll eventually grow out of it :)) Just 2 cents worth from me. All the best.

You can also check out the two threads that are under this one, they deal with the same subject. And do a search of the archives for puppy biting, you will find tons of information and help in this matter!

It's a puppy thing, there are ways to deal with it and help him through this stage. Have patience and search the archives for lots of help!
