| Biting I get my girl in 4 weeks but went to see her this weekend and she is georgous, can't decide between the name, either Xena or Breeze. However, she is a biter (I expect this with a pup) but what is the best way to get her out of this as my feet won't take it for too long and my staffie won't tollerate it either. |

I like "Breeze" it's so calming and I think Xena is so expected or typical. The biting will cease with firm and consistent corrections, just remember when raising dogs (or children for that matter) patiences is your most valuable asset. Congrat's and good luck! |

| Everyone has their own favorite method of dealing with this, and the effectiveness depends upon the pup. A search will find much discussion on this issue. The Staffie will have its own method and tolerances. My only hard and fast rule for puppies is that if it tastes like human flesh it is wrong. I just plain do not allow it. I don't say "if you don't bite too hard it is OK" as I believe that is simply not true. Who is to decide what it too hard? The pup????? So, at my house, no mouthing on flesh is allowed. You might decide to keep shoes on your feet for a while and learn not to use your hands in a waving tempting fashion.

| I vote for Breeze! And yes, do a search for "Mouthing" and "Biting". You will learn much. Good luck with your new pup.
