New Puppy Not eating

I have a 4 month old puppy bitch who is not eating (dry food)Kibble food, I am living in Ireland and I have tried 3 different type of Kibble but she will only eat a few nuts and then leaves the rest. I have tried to take the food away after 30mins and not give it to her till the next feeding time but the same thing happens.
Last week I added some cooked chicken to the kibble and she ate all the chicken but left the kibble. I also tried to soak the kibble in gravy to chance the taste and the same thing happened. I have asked the VET for some advise and he said she should eat just dry food and nothing else. I also tried some canned food with the dry food and same thing, licked all the food off and left the dry.
Can someone tell me what to do as I am worried she is underweight. Apart from that she is full of enegry and loves to play?

Help appreciated

John

Barring a medical problem, your dog is being stubborn. She knows that if she holds out, she gets what she wants..and that is something better tasting than kibble.

The advice you'll probably receive from the experts on here is this: the dog won't kill itself from starvation. Keep putting the kibble down and taking it away if she doesn't eat. After a few days of no eating, she'll figure it out that she isn't going to get any other food and she'll eat.

Of course, all of this is based on no medical problems.

At that age they are going through different growth spurts, she could be slowing sown right now and not requiring as much food. In addition, she might be starting to get in adult teeth and her gums might be sore. You could always soak the kibble in some water to soften it without adding all that rich food.

Not eating

Hi John
Is it the same food that the breeder gave you when you got her? I get my pup in a dew weeks and will be given a diet sheet and a supply of food that she is used to.
Have a work with the breeder and see what they recommend.
