Hiccups!

Mook gets hiccups at least once a day, sometimes twice. How normal is this? I know people get them, and I remember having them pretty often when I was a little kid, but I was just wondering if any of you with puppies have the same thing going on. If you know anything about them, does anyone know what causes them? As always, thanks!

Jen

puppies and hiccups just go together. I would actually be a little concerned if my puppy didn't have hiccups. I have always been told that the hiccups mean the puppy is growing. Perhaps if you do a search on hiccups there will be a real answer.
I enjoy watching the hiccups.

I think within the first 24 hours with our new pup she had the hiccups about 5 times. She got them at least 2 or 3 times a day (about once for everytime fed) for the last week. I haven't heard any in the last couple days, but then she has slowed down her eating and drinking, I think she just noticed she hasen't got 7 litter mates looking over her shoulder trying to snag her food!

When we got our puppy every time you looked at her she was hiccuping. THey are funny to watch when they have them. She would run over the our big dog and then you she would get the hiccups and he would just look at her like crazy little puppy:) Good luck with you pup.

Our pup gets the hiccups ~ she would get them constantly when we first got her, and although she still gets them ~ it isn't as frequent.

Thanks everyone, I figured they were normal, but if any of you have 'human' kids, then you know how it is when they're brand new. He does get them pretty frequently, and my older dog spends a lot of time looking at him like he's martian...
