Re: Still biting, need more advice.

I too missed the age of your dog, now is the time for observation, gentle reminders and lots of love.

Thanks. Yes, let the baby slink away and take a nap afterwards....don't apologize or give him a treat when he is growling at you because you walked into a room. He may be inclined to get the idea that his "baby butt don't stink". If the puppy is playing and growling I don't mind, we just use a nice toy for those little teeth to sink into.

But little babies who growl at their owners do not get coddled, praised, or loved after they are disciplined.....they go take a nap....I go about busying myself elsewhere in the house. Little babies who growl at their owners can turn into big brats who growl at their owners.

Re: Still biting, need more advice.

my pup doesnt growl at me, he just likes to bite at our pant leg, shoe, and feet area.

Yeah, my puppy is 9 weeks old, do you guys still recommend the above corrections?

Re: Still biting, need more advice.

Please, the recommendations on this thread were for the much older pup in the original post and not for a baby pup. You have a baby pup that should still be carrying a puppy passport. Intimidation is not at all recommended for a baby pup nor is it in any way appropriate.

Ok, so I just disregard the intimidation method.

I will just hold him immobile by his collar and not say a word.

Re: 6 Months old and Still biting, need more advice.

Your 9 week old pup is to immature for the methods that I have posted, that was geared to the 6 month old dog posted earlier. My feeling toward correction for your youngin' is to follow what the bitch would do to correct her pups, generally a little shake of the scruff and some words of admonishment. Never to young to start them off on the right track. I have used that method on all of my pups and can say that it has worked for my dogs.
