Question Prefers Dogs to Humans!!!!

My 9 month old female rottie prefers my 3 small dogs to humans. She has been brought up with 3 male Pek's whom she adores. If you approach her she tends to cower and run away, on a few occassions she has also wet herself. I have never been nasty to her in fact she is spoilt, she does the same as the small dogs and spends most of her time in the house!!!! She is never left on her own there is always somebody at home with her during the day. She is my 4th Female Rottie and I have never experienced this before. Her parents were lovely natured dogs. I must stress that she is not nasty with us but I am very concerned that she could turn nasty as she gets older. Please can someone give me some advise. Thanks Sally

Post Re: Prefers Dogs to Humans!!!!

Sounds like she has not been socialized with humans enough...and is only comfortable in her pack. I suggest you start slowly...but separate her from the other dogs. Take her out for walks alone, play with her alone, train with her alone. This is the problems when puppies are allowed to bond with other dogs instead of people.
Take treats out with you when you take her out alone...so she understands that food and your attention is her reward.
It's going to take a lot of work to turn this around....but something that has to be done.

You should never have let this go on so long.
