Post Growling Rottie Pup

Hello everyone, I have a 3 month old female rottweiler and I am having a problem. When she is tired or playing and I go to pet her or pick her up she growls. I do not know what to do, I have told her no repeatedly, I gave her a little bite with my hand several times, I tried ignoring her, nothing is working. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and I thank you for your time.

Re: Growling Rottie Pup

I'm glad you found RDN. The forums are packed with info and people here are knowledgeable.

From where did you get your puppy? Is your breeder able to help you and answer your questions?

Are you and your puppy enrolled in obed class? If not, you need to be. Yesterday. Do you know how to find a suitable class?

Please, stop picking up your young dog! There is no reason to do this. Why can't she walk?

What do you mean by giving your dog a little bite with [your] hand several times? Are you pinching her? Striking her?? What, exactly? If any of these, please stop.

Re: Growling Rottie Pup

In addition to what AngelBunny has said, I would add, you might want to have a vet give your puppy an overall check up. Unless of course you just had that done. Most breeders require that within 48 hours of purchase the pup is gone over by a vet.

Is your pup from a rescue or breeder?
