Puppy growling

I have always had Labs this is my first Rottweiler(wife's idea). Brought the pup home around 8 weeks old. fairly mellow seems to be pretty smart. He is now 5 months old. A few times when he is tired and laying down I tried to get him up with no avail i will pick him and stand him up and he growls and try's to bite very aggressively he has hand my hand in his mouth and did not bite hard. However, the growling and nipping is very concerning to me. I have a 3 year old and a 5 year old son and daughter. Is this behavior common can it be corrected. What should I do when this happens.
I have never hit or used any aggressively type training Just rewards Doing the best to raise a friendly pet.

Re: Puppy growling

Hello! I'd recommend you read the following thread (I sure hope I did this "linkback" thingy correctly! :)) They had the same problems, and had excellent advice. Now I hope your situation turns out more positive than theirs...Also, there are TONS of similar posts in the puppy section...Good Luck!!!
