biting puppy

HELP ME, HELP ME!!! I have a 10 week old puppy that LOVES to bite...ive been doing the "no bite" when he is biting anything he shouldnt and than giving him a toy to replace what he was biting...sometimes he wont chew the toy...my main concern is that he is now biting me just to bite...it may be a game to him because he barks and than will bite anything on me, my shirt, pants, knees and feet!! Now he bites me feet as i walk....how can i correct this behavior....is he doing this because he needs to chew? Is this normal behavior for a puppy this age? He is a very smart puppy and he is able to sit, lay down it just he is not doing well at all with the no biting...it doesnt bother me that he bites walls, or pillows but it is when he bites me because it hurts and i have been trying not to raise my voice and put him in his crate so that he doesnt see it as punishment, however when i push him off me he comes right back biting away at me!!! Anyone have any suggestion, please let me know what i can do!!

Re: biting puppy

You need to read all the stickies on here, it covers puppy biting. You can also search teething, as your pup is teething right now as well.

Who told you to grab his muzzle and hold it until he cries? How old is your puppy? What suggestions is the breeder of your puppy giving you?

Put any thought of punishing or hurting your puppy out of your mind.

Puppies haven't been on this earth long enough to figure anything out. They learn about the world thru their mouths. Why would you want to punish a puppy who doesn't know any better and is simply doing what he's doing because of instinct?

Read thru the stickies in Puppy Development.
