My Puppy Hates It When I Swim In The Pool

Every time I'm in the pool, my 3 month old pup turns into Cujo. He runs along the side of the pool growling, snarling, biting, and showing his teeth. He usually does this behavior anyway but its WAY worse at the pool. It's so bad that when he does catch my hand or leg in his mouth when I get out, he breaks the skin and leaves cuts and welts on me.

I thought maybe he was jealous of being left out so I brought him in the pool with me. He freaks out and swims to the edge and then proceeds to start his Cujo antics all over again.

It's embarrassing because the neighbors probably think I have a vicious dog in the making. I wonder why he acts like this?

I have had two rotties and both of them felt the pool was there's to protect and keep clean, if we left any thing in the pool they would remove it. Thor will run around the pool when me or our grandchilden get in and act studid running around and barking. your puppy is very young and needs to be tought not to bite. Once he get's to like the pool it will be a job to keep him out. I would work on the no bite rule, he should be fine. He's just a puppy.

Thanks for your input. I've been working on the no biting thing since we got him at 10 weeks. I will also try to get him used to the pool. I didn't know that they will "claim" the pool as theirs.
