Re: At wit's end with the biting

If you keel smacking your dog you'll loose all trust and that's what bounding is build upon.
I had some very hard mouthy dogs but with consistant training and positive motivation you can change that behavior for your own(training) benefit.Try to learn something of HOW a dog learns,it will make things easier for you.

Re: At wit's end with the biting

I am not Jamming my fingers down his throat I am putting my fingers in his mouth to have him learn for his self that he does not like to have my hand to bite on this has worked for me thru all the dark ages??? the pup I have now knows she does not want to choke on my hand but I can let her play with me without getting my hands bittin. As far as the Kids being bittin by the pup he must learn Who is the pack leader and that he is not allowed to bite the other members of the pack without the leader reprimanding him. AS far as the growling and snapping at you Rottweilers do not like a heavy hand so you have let him take control of this so there will be conflict until you get control but you will need to send me a private email. The OP IS who ? I AM NOT IN THE DARK AGES I do not have to beat or smack my dogs to get them to do what I want you just have to think about what you want to do and how to get them to do what you want them to do but you can aiways do like they do in the dark ages an use force but when you start with force you must finish with force and you will find that you will cull more dogs trying to get to where you want to be.

Thanks for that! It made me chuckle because I happen to be a psychiatric nurse. Anyway, I don't know what change came over my little monster, but he has been on his best behavior the last 2 days now. I have been trying some clicker training with him on my own and I get so proud of how quickly he learns! Thanks to you all!
