| Feeding Raw w/o Feeding Bones Dog's get immense pleasure from chewing on bones, however,
there are raw feeder's that are apprehensive about this part of the diet. The rmb's should make up at least 60% of the overall diet, because of the calcium/phosphorus ratio they provide. You can still get the benefits by grinding the rmb's (the Maverick grinder is popular), and adding ground eggshell to your meat mix, at 1/2 tsp per pound of meat. Eggshells are 96% calcium carbonate, with the rest being other minerals. Most "grinder" folks dry the eggshells in a bowl, on the countertop, and then grind them in a coffee bean grinder, or processor. They'll make
alot of "dust", so let it settle before you remove the lid! So if
the frozen prepared raw diets aren't for you, this method works.
