Re: need a substitute for Purina EN

I might try the lamb, if you can get samples, it's not a meat you find in a lot of foods...a friend of mine had a doog diagnosed with IBD and it seemed that chicken triggered the episodes and lamb calmed things down.

Too bad purina EN doesn't specify WHAT meat they use. Don't ask me why but when I see "meat" listed I always wonder if it's roadkill...

Re: need a substitute for Purina EN

California Natural Lamb and Rice with a little yogurt and acidophilus added is what works for my girl with the sensitive digestive system.

Strangely enough, my boy did not do that well on it (I was hoping to feed them the same food but no such luck). He is currently doing fine on Wellness CORE so I don't know for sure whether it is chicken vs. lamb or the grain-free aspect that made it better for him.

Re: need a substitute for Purina EN

natural balance ultra premium is an excellent food, but not too suitable for puppies under 10 months as the calcium content is 1.6%, pinnacle would be very good too.

CA Nat is a great choice for dogs with problematic digestion. It has the shortest ingredient list than any other PREMIUM dog food.
