The new Canidae Formulas coming soon, ingredients lists.

They aren't available yet, I checked their page and it said coming to Independant Pet Food Dealers soon. I guess I think of rice and millett as grains, so the grain free label doesn't exactly fit does it?

The ingredient lists' don't look bad, but I am betting they are gonna be EXPENSIVE.
Here is their ALS formula at 498 calories per cup.

Chicken meal, turkey meal, lamb, potatoes, peas, chicken fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols), lamb meal, ocean fish meal, tomato pomace, natural flavor, choline chloride, sun cured alfalfa meal, inulin (from chicory root), lecithin, sage extract, cranberries, beta carotene, rosemary extract, sunflower oil, yucca schidigera extract, dried enterococcus faecium, dried lactobacillus acidophilus fermentation product, dried aspergillus oryzae fermentation extract, dried bacillus subtilis fermentation extract, saccharomyces cerevisiae fermentation solubles, vitamin E supplement, iron proteinate, zinc proteinate, copper proteinate, ferrous sulfate, zinc sulfate, copper sulfate, potassium iodide, thiamine mononitrate, manganese proteinate, manganous oxide, ascorbic acid, vitamin A supplement, biotin, calcium pantothenate, manganese sulfate, sodium selenite, pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6), vitamin B12 supplement, riboflavin, vitamin D supplement, folic acid, cobalt proteinate, organic selenium, papaya, pineapple.

The only controversial ingredient I see is tomato pomace.

Also at 498 calories per cup, their new grain free Salmon Meal

Salmon meal, potatoes, potato protein, ocean fish meal, canola oil (preserved with mixed tocopherols), peas, tomato pomace, natural flavor, choline chloride, sun cured alfalfa meal, inulin (from chicory root), lecithin, sage extract, cranberries, beta carotene, rosemary extract, sunflower oil, yucca schidigera extract, dried enterococcus faecium, dried lactobacillus acidophilus fermentation product, dried aspergillus oryzae fermentation extract, dried bacillus subtilis fermentation extract, saccharomyces cerevisiae fermentation solubles, vitamin E supplement, iron proteinate, zinc proteinate, copper proteinate, ferrous sulfate, zinc sulfate, copper sulfate, potassium iodide, thiamine mononitrate, manganese proteinate, manganous oxide, ascorbic acid, vitamin A supplement, biotin, calcium pantothenate, manganese sulfate, sodium selenite, pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6), vitamin B12 supplement, riboflavin, vitamin D supplement, folic acid, cobalt proteinate, organic selenium, papaya, pineapple.

And Finally at 457 calories per cup is their
Beef and Ocean Fish Meal

Beef, ocean fish meal, oatmeal, beef meal, brown rice, white rice, rice bran, peas, cracked pearled barley, millet, canola oil, tomato pomace, natural flavor, flaxseed meal, choline chloride, sun cured alfalfa meal, inulin (from chicory root), lecithin, sage extract, cranberries, beta carotene, rosemary extract, sunflower oil, yucca schidigera extract, dried enterococcus faecium, dried lactobacillus acidophilus fermentation product, dried aspergillus oryzae fermentation extract, dried bacillus subtilis fermentation extract, saccharomyces cerevisiae fermentation solubles, vitamin E supplement, iron proteinate, zinc proteinate, copper proteinate, ferrous sulfate, zinc sulfate, copper sulfate, potassium iodide, thiamine mononitrate, manganese proteinate, manganous oxide, ascorbic acid, vitamin A supplement, biotin, calcium pantothenate, manganese sulfate, sodium selenite, pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6), vitamin B12 supplement, riboflavin, vitamin D supplement, folic acid, cobalt proteinate, organic selenium, papaya, pineapple.

this looks to be the worst of the three with rice bran, cracked pearl barley and millet.

Now on the ALS formula they claim "Grain Free Formula with 80% Meat Protein and 20% Fruits and Vegetables. Notice it says Meat Protein instead of 80% Meat and 20% Fruits and Vegetables.
I don't trust Canidae anymore, they had a great thing going with their original formulas, and they changed them under the guise of "new and improved" to save money and also changed the bag sizes from 40 to 35 lbs. We are not the only breed board complaining about these new formulas, I read lots last night and it seems that most people who used the new foods, some without even KNOWING it, as Canidae certainly didn't mark the bags clearly, are pretty pissed. Most of us are lucky I suppose since we just had some loose stools until quitting the food, some spent lots of money at the vet for severe gastric distress.
All of the new foods will be available in 5, 10 and 30 lb bags, so another 5 lb decrease and being grain free a large price increase. They as far as I am concerned will never be able to compete with Innova, Evo and the other grain free foods. Their reputation has suffered and they are not going to get a large market share on their new foods, they have really angered most of their loyal, former customer base.
These guys are either smoking crack or counting on the gullibility of people to make this new stuff fly. They will NEVER get another dollar from me. I don't find them reliable, I don't like their flippant attitude, and when talking to them they assured me that most people were calling to say they loved the new formulas, and how well their dogs were doing on them. In other words they were trying to convince me that MY dog was a rare case of a problem. I have yet to find a positive remark on the net about the newer foods, so I doubt they have gotten all the positive feedback they have claim to have gotten.
I am sticking with the California Lamb and Rice, and I feel very lucky with my dog's sensitive tummy issues to have only tried one new food since to find one that works well for him.

Wow turned this into a very long post, but there's the ingredients for all to look at.
If anyone tries these, I would like to know if the dogs do well.
PS it isn't going to be me. LOL

Hmmm. Lexi liked Prairie's Beef and Merrick's Trout. I think I'll try the Beefy Ocean fish one. Potatoes block her up a little. Tried CA Nat's Herring & Potatoe and discovered that.

We'll check it out when its available. She has an iron gut and I like feeding new food.

Re: The new Canidae Formulas coming soon, ingredients lists.

Switched mine from New/Improved Canidae to Blackwoods 3000 Lamb & Rice and both dogs are looking great, stools are firmer and the bag is at it's last 1/4 so I ordered the Blackwoods 2000 for large breed puppies/active dogs. $46.99 shipped to the door for 40lbs. . Yes I liked the original Canidae ALS and I know people will give there advice on there recommended quality foods, but I have found a kibble that works for Me and the dogs. Along with there Chicken soup food kibble for training treats, a couple scrambled egg mornings per week, beef ribs to naw/chew when found on sale at wally world and various scrap vegetables from our main diner and life is good again. Canidae can spin there New Formulas any way they like, they made a profits decision plain and simple and they are riding it out. I won't but there brand again.........WVleo

Re: The new Canidae Formulas coming soon, ingredients lists.

I am a huge believer in raw so this food hasn't even crossed my mind. But on the reverse side, I have been hearing and seeing quite a few more dogs than I'd like to having issues with the new formula. I tried Canidae years ago and didn't get any of the results I was looking for and that is why I switched from it. I am just giving a little heads up as I would hate to hear of more issues from on this forum as well.
