wavy coat?

My pup is 13 weeks old and is starting to lose her baby fluff, however I have noticed that she seems quite wavy on top of her stump.... is this normal for a pup? as I know that wavy coats are not standard and we did pay for a show quality pup. Any information on this topic would be greatly appreciated:)

thanks
Julia

Many times puppies will have a wavy coat particularly in the tail area. I would not worry about it. The coat will usually straighten out as the puppy gets older. Although a wavy coat is considered a fault, if that's your only problem consider yourself very lucky.

I have two adult rottweilers. Both had wavy coats when they shed out of their fluffy puppy fur. Misty had a completely straight coat by the time she was a year and a half. It started to straighten out from the neck and the croup was the last to straighten out. My male on the other hand is still wavy at age 4. he was a show dog and did very well. I would not worry about it unless it gets an open coat- ie you can see the undercoat.
:)
